Ford Motor Co. is among a group of investors putting seed money into 3D mapping startup Civil Maps as the automaker looks for new ways to push forward the development of self-driving cars. The $6.6 million seed round was led by Motus Ventures. Wicklow Capital, StartX Stanford, and Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang’s AME Cloud Ventures also participated in the round.
