WATERLOO, Ind. -- Folks in Waterloo, Indiana are mourning the loss of a high school football player just hours before he was to take the field. According to WPTA-TV, two players from Dekalb High School, about half an hour north of Fort Wayne, were t-boned when they drove into another car's path around 4 p.m. Friday. 17-year-old Derek Padilla was pronounced dead at the scene, and 16-year-old Lucas Oberkiser went to the hospital in critical condition after medics performed CPR on him. The Allen County coroner’s office has identified the victim from Friday’s shooting as Jamal R. Anderson, 24, of Fort Wayne.
